Kingston, a historic city with beautiful Nineteenth Century buildings is located midway between Montreal and Toronto, and is a perfect one day stop-over when travelling between these two cities by train. I will meet you at Kingston train station and provide a two hour tour of the city (overview, historical background, visit downtown, Fort Henry and the Penitentiary Museum), followed with a 30 minute drive to Gananoque - a typical Ontario town founded by United Empire Loyalists-where we embark on a scenic one hour cruise of the Thousand Island region. At the conclusion, time for lunch, and we will end the tour at the train station, or I can transfer you in my car to Ottawa, 100 miles away, (please add $ 100 to the basic cost of the tour). In Ottawa, we complete the day with a panoramic overview of the city: National War Monument, Parliament Hill, Chateau Laurier, Notre-Dame Cathedral (optional visit), National Art Gallery, residences of the Prime Minister and Governor-General. |

Admission on Gananoque Boat Line 1 hour cruise: Adult: $20 (inclusive of all taxes)
Child age 6 through 12: $11 (inclusive of all taxes)
Senior: $17 (inclusive of all taxes)
Child age 0 through 5: FREE
Cost of lunch or any snacks
Admission to the museum is by donation to the "Friends of the Penitentiary Museum at Kingston" Charitable Organization (# 87852 0964 RR 0001). All donations to the Friends are used for the further development of the museum and its services.
The price quoted is for pick-up and drop-off in Kingston; if transportation to Ottawa is required, add $ 100.00 to cost of tour. |
