Located along the Famous Tailake , east end of Grand canal , with four sides facing water , eight sides surrounded by water ( Tongli, Jiuli, Chenghu, Bozhuang, Baiyan, Yeze, Nanxin, Pangshan lakes). After merged with Twen cun town in 2001 , The total area of Tongli is around 102 square Km , with about 6 0, 000population. Tongli features as the typical Ming and Qing dynasty archituures, it is a well preserved water township with a history of more than 1, 000 years. Tuisi garden has been listed in the World heritage list in 2001. and Tongli town is now also applying for this honor. It is also a place popular with film shoots and directions. |
