This private nature reserve began in 1970 with the intention of supporting the protection of tropical rainforests in the Canyon of Rio Claro, while developing ecotourism with recreational-educational programs. The lime-stone, marble deposits and the river bed are beyond amazing.

Due to the distance to this incredible Nature Reserve, this tour requires an early pick-up, hopefully no later than 6:30 am. After driving though the Medellin-Bogotá road for about 2. 5 hours, we finally make it to Reserve. We start our activities with the scenic rafting that usually takes about 1. 5 to 2 hours. This is the only activity included in the price of this tour. Optional activities you can choose from are the caving experience (US$12. 00 per person) and the Canopy (US$12. 00 per person).
Lunch (not included either) can be scheduled in between the rafting and the second activity of the day (if any).
Extreme caution must be observed during any of the activities. All activities are done at your own risk. If you don't have your own personal accident insurance or would like us to help you get insurance for this tour, please let us know. |

| The duration of the tour will depend on the number of activities done. If only the rafting is done, it can take a total of 9-10 hours. The canopy activity (not included) takes about 1 hour and the caving (not included either) about 2.5 hours. |

21 COP - It should be less than that. Lunch is usually less than US$9.00.
Canopy: US$12 per person and Caving is US$12.00 per person as well. However, people usually do no more than two activities, rafting plus one other (caving or canopy) and that's why the estimate is US$21. |

There are a couple other optional activities at the reserve that can be paid directly to the reserve's staff. Approximate prices as of May, 2011 are as follows:
Caving to Cueva de los Guacharos: US$12.00
Canopy along the river: US$12.00
Also, a nice lunch is available at the reserve's restaurant with an approximate cost of $10.00 including a refreshment or beer.
If you're interested in doing the caving, make sure you bring your own flashlight or torch. Otherwise, they sell "cheap" flashlights for about US$6.00 |
