Taha was an excellent guide - he was prompt, friendly and knew the city and sites very well! His English was great, and he provided excellent commentary about the sites we visited. Despite the recent problems in Tunisia, we never at all felt unsafe. We were so happy that we got the opportunity to visit such a wonderful place; it was one of the highlights of our cruise. Hit all the planned high spots despite time constraints. Gave a good perspective on area history and feeling of current events like the upcoming elections. Restaurant selection was good but touristy and would have liked more local fare off menu as not novices at the cuisine.

David Djaha, United States Aug 4/11 Taha was on of the best guides we had on our 17 day cruise. He was smart, funny and spoke English very clearly. He met us where we agreed, at exactly the time intended and adapted our tour as we went along. He knew all the details of the history and culture of Tunis. Transportation was comfortable and well air conditioned. I highly. highly recommend Taha.

Warrenetta Baker, United States Aug 4/11 Taha was already booked on our date, but he arranged a fantastic tour for us with another tour guide, Ms. Boutheina. She was delightful. We went to Tunis and saw the sites of the Jasmine revolution, the Medina, the Bardo, the exterior of some of the mosques. Our guide was wonderful with the kids and we were happy she went to the Medina with us. After Tunis was Carthage, the Punic harbors, Carthage museums, the American Cemetery, and a quick stop at Sidi Bou Said. Great, great day! Thank you. Haley F., United States Jun 7/11 We had a fantastic time on our tour with Taha B. He was professional and thorough in all prior email communications (he replied very quickly to my questions), and he was able to make adjustments to the tour based on some special requests (see WW2 memorial, more time at the Medina, etc.). He gave us a lot of insight to the local culture and revolution. He took care of all the planning and tickets (nothing for us to pay for besides drinks once on the tour), so it was a low stress day. Highly recommended!

Helen Gardner, United Kingdom Oct 26/10 Taha was unable to do our tour but arranged for a guide, Manel, and driver, Moez, to do the tour. They were really great, Manel was very knowledgeable, friendly and very ready to show us the things on the tour and answer all our questions about Tunisia in fluent English. We felt completely looked after with her as a guide and with Moez driving and just had a wonderful day, we would highly recommend them, and also Taha and Tours by Locals who were so helpful in arranging this. James Buchanan, Canada Sep 25/10 only problem was meeting up with taha. needed a better explanation of locale. other than that we were very satisfied with the tour and impressed with taha's knowledge and insight of tunis TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: I was pleased conducting this private tour . Family Buchanan was great. TOURSBYLOCALS RESPONSE: The authorities at the port make it difficult for independent guides to pick up port side. It's just a short walk to a suitable meeting place. We've asked Taha to provide a map to the spot.

Dina Scheibye, Denmark Aug 10/10 Tunisia is really an underrated destination. They have so many great things to see but seem to be lacking in presentation. Our Guide was very stressed for time and was good on certain times but at other times would rather have us go about some attractions by ourselves. TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: I hope Guests appreciated joining me for the tour. I'm convinced this family enjoyed the provided services and I just wanted the members to taste the freedom of drinking a mint-tea in the Medina and preferred not to join them, thought they would appreciate the distance I kept to help living some private moments in there. I thought I would please them that way and avoid any form of prejudices or hassle.

Stuart Jacobson, United States Jun 11/10 Taha provided an excellent experience for us, our children and our grandchildren (ages 10 to 18) on our trip to Carthage, the American Military Cemetery and the souks. The transportation furnished was quite comfortable and more than adequate. Unfortunately, we got off to a rough start, primarily because the Port Authorities would not let the bus pick us up at the port and we had to walk nearly a mile in order to meet the bus. The authorities gave Taha and the driver a hard time and took his license away. TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for commenting my services I was providing.Tunisian authorities helped providing best services and I will be able to customize my private tour in future. I have my license and I will put my expertise at total siposition of partners and customers.
