Douglas Allison (Al) MacLean, Canada Sep 13/11 Mark was genuine, polite, charming, obliging, committed to sharing all he knows about Saint Petersburg. He has good language skills. While Mark could answer most any question posed about Saint Petersburg, he was more passionate about discussing the history of the Russian Czars and their families as well as the palaces, architecture and art collections. Mark could get lost in his passion for explaining the history of his city and country.

Wilma Whited, United States Sep 1/11 Our guide was actually named Mark, and we loved him! His English was excellent, with very little accent, so it was easy to understand. He is very knowledgeable about St. Petersburg and its history, and very patient in answering every question. We saw everything listed in the itinerary, and even had time to shop in a Russian grocery store before returning to our ship. There is simply not enough space to tell you how much we enjoyed our two days in SPB, and how much that was due to our excellent guide. My husband and I spent two full days with him and he was patient, knowledgeable, punctual and interesting to spend time with. I have MS and he took time to help me in my scooter and got me everywhere I wanted to go including the Hermitage. We highly recommend him.

Dave Allen, United States Jul 9/10 Though our guide's name seemed to change several times and is not the one quoted here, we were SO IMPRESSED with our guide's knowledge of St. Petersburg and art. Everywhere we went, he provided a running commentary on history, sculpture, buildings, historical figures, etc. It must have taken tremendous energy and endurance to provide this 2 day tour. In addition, our guide was able to meet our dining requests - plain, "native" food. His recommendations were excellent and fun. We had a fabulous time!
