Jeanette Best, United Kingdom Feb 9/13 Jose met me promptly at the agreed time and place and had plenty of suggestions for things to do and see during the day even though access was limited by carnival. He speaks English fluently so there was no struggling to understand each other. His transport is in good condition. It was good to attend a blocos party with someone with local knowledge. Frank Rice, United Arab Emirates Mar 4/12 Jose and I spent two full days together, and I give him the highest credit for making them fascinating and memorable. Having been to Rio before, I was interested in "behind the scenes," non-touristy, "insider" experiences, and Jose put together customized itineraries that showed his deep and broad understanding of the "heart and soul" of Rio. Any tour guide can show you the major sights (Jose is I am sure one of the best at doing this), but it takes a special guide like Jose to bring a city to life.
