| Melba was an excellent guide. She was knowledgable and personable. In discussing with my family we all agreed it was a great tour, with a couple of suggestions. Proper seats in the boat for those will mobility difficulties and we strongly suggest cleaning up the dock area where the we got on the boat. First impressions are important.
All in all, a great tour. We'll be back next November and will be in touch about going to the Rain Forest. |
| TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Thanks for your comment. I'll work that out with the fishermen. Count with the Rainforest next year. I'll be right here at your service. |

| Melba knows the island and is quiet willing to share her knowledge (in car). We were fighting Hurricane Irene to get to our destination. We never made it there or anywhere else. We had to turn back to the resort. Water levels were measured in the feet. NOT HER FAULT. We did not cancel, because we knew time and expenses were incurred. Like consideration was not given by the tour company nor did we hear from her. This was an aborted tour (best to cancel in inclement weather) or you will be charged in full. |
| TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: I agree. If you're flexible with tour options, always consider the possibility of rain, prior a storm or ask for a b plan prior the booking. After a storm, we don't know what to expect (fallen trees, power off, broken signs, flooding) and discuss it before booking (plan b, rain possibility, satisfaction). Remember to visit the cancellation policy (link on bottom of page). Prior booking, ask your guide if they would agree calling customer support and rearrange the fee if everything goes wrong. |
| TOURSBYLOCALS RESPONSE: The guide did show up and the tour stopped because of the bad weather conditions. This tour was given in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene. If cancelled, it would be eligible for a full refund under our 'Act of God' cancellation policy. Given the circumstances, we've contacted Ms. Simon and offered her a refund. |
