Mary Sajfar, United States Jan 26/11 Julie was wonderful! This was the best day of our 14 day trip of Western Australia and both islands of New Zealand. I see a few comments on here about commentary regarding the area. Honestly, this is why I chose a local guide. Julie talks about the things that only 40+ year residents know. She does know the typical touristy jive and if you ask she will give you the info you want to know, but I suggest you relax and let her do the work. Don't waste your time learning what is on Wiki. Victoria (Vicki) Kessler, United States Feb 10/10 Julie was very pleasant and informative to a point and we greatly enjoyed the countryside and gold mine tour;however there were times when we had to 'pull' information from her with questions rather than her offering the information.Her vehicle was too cramped with 5 adults as a whole. Very uncomfortable for an 8 hour tour. Air conditioning was also marginal at best. TOUR GUIDE RESPONSE: Really sorry you didn't enjoy it. Driving times were as follows, 1 hour through to Waihi, 15 mins back to Katikati,30 mins to Tauranga with 10 mins back to the ship..so less than 25% of your day was in the car with significant stops after each stage. I normally speak a lot more around the murals in Katikati but this was not possible with the extremely limited mobility within your group. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in New Zealand.

Donna Brown, United States Feb 8/10 My mom and I had a lovely half day tour with Julie - she was very cognizant of mom's mobility limitations and tailored our stops accordingly. The big bonus of the tour was a stop at Julie's 100 year old 'work in progress' home and an impromptu concert on her beautiful 1909 baby grand piano and a bit of Irish fiddle music. What a treat!
