Elaine Silva, United States Jun 21/12 We just returned from touring Ponta Delgada. Rui was our guide to a wonderful day of learning all about the Island. Rui was on time and most accommodating to us. Rui not only took us to every place listed, but explained so much about the life of local villages. As he explained things others who did not have a tour guide would try to listen. Everything was well planned and even friends on the Island were amazed at what we saw and learned in one day. We highly recommend Rui. Diane Shutty, United States Jun 20/12 Carlos did the tour for Rui. He did an outstanding job. The weather started out rainy, but he maneuvered around and took us to amazing spots to see the twin lakes, the countryside, and the historic areas. He should be given a full time status with Rui. Carlos was very European, gentlemanly and polite. He was very punctual in geting us back to the ship in a timely manner. Also, he was waiting outside the ship for us with a sign in the morning. This tour was well worth it; the ship tour buses lagged. Carlos was an amazing tour guide, his English was fluent (as he spent many years in Toronto, Canada). Besides having an amazing knowledge on Azores and Ponta Delgada, Carlos had excellent time management skills and looked after all our needs in a very professional manner.
