Kostas provided us a very comprehensive and fascinating tour of Akrotiri plus tours of Fria and Oia -- pretty much the whole island, complete with the perfect photo ops. Jerilynn Watson, United States Sep 13/12 We had Dimitra because Kostas was booked. She was so wonderful. She is bright, charming and energetic. She took us all over the island including a wonderful wine tasting. She knew all the back ways to get around so we avoided all the large crowds until we ended the tour and had to take the funicular down to meet our ship. When we returned to the ship, many of our mates were complaining that the island was so crowded that they didn't feel they got to see much. We highly recommend using ToursByLocals. Penny A., South Africa Jul 12/12 What an incredible tour! Kostas is passionate about Akrotiri and passed on his knowledge to us with great enthusiasm. My husband was in a wheel chair and Kostas willingly pushed him through the site despite the heat that day. He also found the best way for us to negotiate the steep cobbled streets to the cable car.We highly recommend Kostas as an outstanding guide to Akrotiri, and the excavation and museum is a must for those interested in the history of the Minoan era. He knew all the best spots to take photos being a keen photographer himself and we couldn't have had a better guide - our only complaint was that we had such a short time on Santorini - hopefully we can come back again someday and we would be seeking out Kostas once again. Lois Sacks, United States Jun 20/12 Our Guide, Dimetra was recommended by Kostas. She is warm, knowledgeable and a most experienced guide who speaks English,Greek and Spanish. She has a great love and enthusiasm for the magnificent Island of Santorini. We had one of the best days of our vacation that day with Dimetra. We hope you will consider adding her to your roster of guides. She apparently works in Barcelona in the winter and has worked for Tours by Locals in 2009.
