Jan R., United States Apr 25/13 Melanie was a wonderful guide. She took us to all the important places and made sure we thoroughly enjoyed our day in Hong Kong. She took us to the famous milk tea place and arranged a fabulous lunch in a place we would never have been able to go by ourselves and acted as our interpreter when needed. Walking and taking public transportation was a great way to see Hong Kong.. And she was a wonderful person to spend time with. If we ever get back to Hong Kong we will contact her right away. Sharron Smith, United States Mar 17/13 Melanie was a great guide. She met us promptly and took us to the places we had suggested, plus many more. We used various public modes of transportation to get to different parts of the city, including the ferry to Kowloon. My brother in law has hearing difficulties. She made sure he heard and understood her. She is very knowledgeable and pleasant. She even made dinner reservations for us for that evening. Melanie delivered--Hong Kong off the beaten path. We learned about life in HK for the average and not so average person living there. All modes of local transport were used. We sampled street food from stalls with typical HK food and went to a great restaurant where locals go for lunch. She was able to customize the day to us and to change plans on the fly. We saw neighborhoods, the wet and dry markets, Taoist and Buddhist temples and had lunch at a "real" Dim Sum restaurant. I had special requests--to meet a local artist, eat at a good, authentic restaurant, and she worked those requests into the tour. As we walked, she pointed out lots of very interesting things about the city and its culture. She had no problems with a last minute change. She took us on the MTR, double decker bus, Peak tram, ding ding, and Star Ferry. John Campaign, Australia Jul 10/12 Great tour of Hong Kong if you have a long stop over at the airport. Melanie was great. She had spent time in Australia , so communication was not a problem. We were all very jet lagged and so tired and it was not Malanie's fault that we called a stop to our tour a little earlier than arranged. Lunch at the local restaurant was a high light. She was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Hong Kong and she showed us the southern side of Hong Kong island. She went out of her way to schedule a separate drop off of our luggage to the hotel while we continued on our tour so that we did not waste time traveling back and forth to the hotel.
