The trek starts by a short incline then enters the Atlantic forest (Mata Atlantica), at the heart of the "Ecological preservation area of Joatinga".
After an hour and a half of pleasant walking, we reach, at lunchtime, the hamlet of Sono, located on the border of one of the nicest beaches of the region, Praia Do Sono. Literally meaning "sleepy beach", Praia Do Sono invites us, because of its name and also because as soon as we get back on the road, a short but very steep hill awaits us.
After this climb, the hike becomes a lot less demanding. This is the only difficulty of the walk.
We successively pass Praia Da Velha and Praia Dos Antigos before arriving, Due to the nature of the activity, weather is a major factor, therefore in case of bad weather the tour can be re-scheduled. |

The tour Leaves from Paraty until Laranjeiras village( 40 minutes driving ) where will start a walking until Sono's beach, during this trekking (one hour approximately), We will pass by preserved area of the Rain Forest, inside of the AIPA do cairuçu ( Ambient Protection Area of Cairuçu ) where we will see different kinds of vegetation, birds, animal, water pipes and at the end of the trail we arrive to the Sono's Beach with its great sea and crystalline waters.
The return to laranjeiras village will be made by the same trail.
7:00 am : meeting up at the hotel
7:50 am : taking the bus to Laranjeiras
8:40 am : starting the trail to Sono's beach
9:40 am : getting to Sono Beach
12:30 pm : hiking to Praia dos Antigos
5:00 pm : leaving Sono beach to get our bus back to Paraty |
