This is a great tour for the first time vistor to the Palm Springs, Ca. area, or even if your a local, and you want to more about your city. It is the foundation tour for all the information that you would need to know about downtown. The history of Palm Springs is as varied as those who live here and come to visit. Often described as a small city with the cultural amenities of an urban area, the shopping, entertainment, dining and recreational opportunities are first-class. In downtown Palm Springs, the palm trees grow tall and straight along the City's main drag - Palm Canyon Drive. That's where the City's many parades and festivals are staged. Cruise the one-way strip lined with antique shops, art galleries, boutiques, restaurants and night clubs and you'll soon spot something that will catch your eye. |

This is a very casual tour of the downtown area. The Village Green in a lovely park-like setting amid the hotels, shops and restaurants of legendary Palm Canyon Drive. According to anthropologists, Native Americans have lived beside the sparkling waters of Palm Springs' tree lined canyons and around its bubbling hot springs for over a thousand years. I will be talking about the history of Palm Springs, how it all got started, how some of the early pioneer's arrived here, and why they decided to make this area there home. While cities everywhere are scrambling to create a walkable downtown environment, Palm Springs is building on its existing downtown assets to transform itself into an entertainment, cultural, and lifestyle center desired by so many. It has always been a place to walk. |

| End location: The tour ends in the same spot.I find that tour times can vary up to 20 minutes, depending on the rate guests choose to take in the sights. I like to let you go at your own rate, but if you have time constraints and wish to finish in exactly in a hour and a half, let me know, and I'll make sure we move at an appropriate pace. |

I will have one available, and there is no extra charge for me taking pictures of you and your family, I went to school for many years to learn how to take pictures of "TOURIST". While we are walking downtown, I will include the "Palm Springs Walk of Stars" tour at no extra charge. A historical landmark,it's dedicated to the many Hollywood Stars who lived, loved and played in this beautiful desert oasis called Palm Springs, the Palm Springs Walk Of Stars immortalizes over three hundred of them in Downtown Palm Springs along Palm Canyon Drive, Museum Way and Tahquitz Canyon Way! |
