We set off over the Kaimais where on a clear day you can enjoy spectacular views of both the Waikato and Bay of Plenty districts, ending up in Matamata where we enjoy a tour of the Hobbiton Movie set and Farm from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Be entertained at the Sheep farm Experience with a sheep shearing demonstration, lamb bottle feeding and hand feeding of the pet sheep. (Before departure for Rotorua, relax with a kiwi barbecue lunch at The Shire's Rest Cafe) optional.
We then carry onto Rotorua for our Te Puia Daytime Experience -
A personal encounter with our people, our culture and our land.
Enjoy our native Maori people, our mudpools and geyers.
Plenty of time for photos, stops, souvenirs.
Then, depending on time left we can travel several different routes back to your cruise ship.

| I will pick you up at 8:00 or a time suitable to you. It's about an hour's drive over the Kaimais to Matamata. You may like a coffee break before we head off to Hobbiton. Allow up to 2 hours for this tour. We then lunch at place of your choice before heading onto Rotorua. This is about an hour and a half's drive. For the tour and maybe another coffee break around Te Puia we'll allow 2 hours. It is about an hour and a quarter back to the Cruise ship from there. This tour can be fine-tuned or extended depending on the time you have available. |
