After leaving your hotel, we will head Downtown; to experience the real old New York where the Dutch first settled. We will see the old Five Points where the story for 'The Gangs of New York' was situated, the court houses into which real life people still have their day in court as well as from the movies ('Miracle on 34th Street', Married to the Mob, etc. ) and TV Shows (Kojac, CSI New York, NYPD Blue…) Then to the fabulous Brooklyn Bridge and quaint City Hall. Ground Zero is next, with the moving story of September 11, 2001. Our tour continues and we see St Paul's Chapel where George Washington came to worship on the day of his inauguration and then proceed to Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange. We end our fabulous 'Old New York' experience at Battery Park for a view of the Statue of Liberty. Transportation is by subway and via our own feet. This in itself is part of getting to know the real New York. The pace is pleasant and you will truly experience the city; not just drive by it all!
