Considered by many people to be more of a college town, Nanjing maintains is deep Chinese roots, while still managing to modernize at a pace much faster that other parts of China. Another one of the historical capitals of China during the KMT/Nationalist, Nanjing has lots of interesting cultural attractions, my favorite definitely being Purple Mountain and Zhongshan Ling, the site of Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum. Yea Nanjing is a really charming town.
