This tour is perfect for first time visitors because is the best introduction to learn about Mexican culture. We'll enjoy the maximum expression of the pre-hispanic, colonial and modern Mexico by walking through the Historic Center. Along our walk from the Zocalo to the Alameda park, not only we will see the Aztec ruins but also the greatest architectural works of the Porfirian period such as the Palace of Fine Arts and the Post Office Palace that expressed progress during the 19th century and gave the city a great elegance essence.

  Itinerary:
Our route starts right in the center of the zocalo. Along our walk we will see pre-hispanic, colonial and modern buildings. We begin at the National Palace on the east side of the Zócalo, where you'll be able to learn about the remarkable murals painted by Diego Rivera. Then, visit the impressive ruins of the Great Aztec Temple and its wonderful museum. Go inside the Cathedral to admire numerous art treasures and the magnificent Altar of the Kings. We'll stop at a restaurant for lunch.

After, we continue towards Tacuba St. to see the Mining Palace that is a fine sample of Neoclassical style, the Communication Palace which is nowadays the National Art Museum, the splendid Post Office Palace and the Palace of Fine Arts that is the maximum representation of culture in Mexico.
Finally, if we still have time, we can admire Mexico City from the 43rd floor in the Latin American tower.

We can add or skip any place you want. We'll make appropiate stops for rest, drink, photographs, etc
  Where and When:
Meet up location: We will meet at the central main door of the Cathedral which is in front of the Zocalo, the main square of the Historic Center. I'll be holding a sign with your name so you can easily identify me. Or we can meet at a prearranged location close to the zocalo or in your hotel wherever is located in the first square of the downtown.
End location: We will end the tour at the Latin American Tower, or at the Palace of Fine Arts, or any other place of your preference in the Historic Center.

500 Mexican peso - 57 pesos for admission to Templo Mayor museum.
Optional: 38 pesos for admission at 2nd floor of the Palace of Fine Arts to see the murals of important painters such as Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros and José Clemente Orozco.
Optional: Entrance fee of 55 pesos to the observation deck of the Latin American Tower on the 43rd floor.
In the case of video inside museums, you will have to pay an extra 35 pesos for permission. The rest of the money is for drinks and restaurant meals.

Museum entrance fees, lunch/drinks are extra expenses.
Children under 12 years old do not pay the entrance fee.
(On Mondays the museums are closed.)
