Metepec is in the East of the State of Mexico, 50 km from Mexico City, and is known for its pottery items. Principal crafts include objects made from clay, glass and includes saddle making. The craft Metepec is best-known for the Arbol de la vida "Tree of Life" which is a traditional pottery and distinguished by their bright colors. The tree sculptures have become emblematic of this municipality, and are part of a clay sculpture tradition found only here. |
