Megalithism is the first form of sacred architecture and was practiced around the world at different times. Particularly in Western Europe the peoples of the Neolithic age (about 5000 to 2000 BC) erected fascinating megaliths (literally = large stones) which still raise many questions about its technical and religious aspects. Several of the most singular examples of these ancient monuments can be found in the environs of the history charged town of Antequera. On an all day excursion we visit the most important ones and immerse ourselves in the mysterious world of our remote ancestors. Our day and the time we start the tour is flexible and is meant to accommodate your schedule and interests.
I suggest the following itinerary:
1. Meeting with Matthias, your personal guide, in Antequera.
2. Visit of the most important Megalithic complex in Spain.
3. About 1 hour and 20 minutes' drive to the most extensive Megalithic burial area of Andalucia.
4. Free time and optional Tapas-Lunch (or picnic).
5. Way back to Antequera towards 5 pm. End of the service |
