Walking tour in the center of Athens to see the landmarks of this city. We'll start with a walk at the foot of the Acropolis Hill to take photos of the Parthenon. Next we'll see the Temple of Zeus once the biggest temple in Athens and Hadrian's Arch. The Kallimarmaro or Panathenaic stadium that hosted the first modern Olympic Games in 1896 will be our next stop. Zappeio building is a beautiful neoclassical building that marks the beginning of the National Gardens. We'll stop there for a coffee and off to Syntagma square to see the House of Parliament just in time for the change of the guards. A short walk will bring us in front of the three most known neoclassical buildings, the Academy, the National University and the National Library. From there we ride the metro back to Syntagma station to see the city beneath the city. Walking down Ermou street, the main shopping street we'll reach the Cathedral of Athens. |
