Backwaters are a unique phenomenon on the coastline area of Kerala.Huge water body called Vembanadu Lake was part of sea.Now separated by narrow strip of land on the western side.This lake plays a significant role in the life of the people in 3 major districts in central Kerala.
A day cruise in a house boat or motor boat through the canals connected with this lake will be a life time experience. In this tour we pick you from hotels in Cochin city or from Cochin port on your arrival by cruise ship and drive to Alleppey 70km south of the city. In Alleppey we put you in a Kerala house boat, which will move you along the banks of Vembanadu Lake and canals.This tour will give you an opportunity to watch a life style century old, and very close by. You may get chance to watch many kinds of birds and vegetation in this tour. Your lunch will be served in the house boat. House boats are floating hotels with bed rooms,kitchen and modern toilet facilities. After 4 hrs cruise we will return to Cochin.
Pick up from hotel lobby or Cochin harbor and drive to Alleppy.It is 70km south of Cochin city.On the way we visit a Hindu temple and coir manufacturing unit.We will have a walking experience in the Alleppy town.On boarding welcome drink (Tender coconut or Lime-mint soda) will be served,and we start floating along the canals and lake.It will be a different experience for you.Lunch will be served while cruising.At the end of 4 hrs cruise,around 4pm,check out and move back to the hotel in Cochin or your cruise ship in the harbor.
Where and When:
Meet up location: I will meet the guest at their Cochin hotel lobby or Cochin harbor and we start the tour.
End location: At the Cochin city hotels or Cochin harbor side.
Duration: 8 hours
If the back water cruise is in motor boat,you can complete it in 6 hours.But that will be without lunch.
