Bonjour mes amis,
I am an artist and a writer and I absolutely adore Paris. I am also very interested in its history, architecture, museums, food and wine and, I must admit - I do love shopping in Paris as well.
I arrived in Paris in 2009 after having previously lived in six other countries: Finland, Canada, USA, Poland, Slovenia and Germany due to my husband's work. Luckily I love travelling and our somewhat nomadic lifestyle has given me just that, but as soon as I arrived to Paris I began calling it home. My family felt the same way and we decided to put down our roots after many years of packing and unpacking - a very happy decision. Apart from having lived in many different countries and learned to adapt to different cultures, I have been a tourist myself on many continents. I love the excitement of a new city and I also love planning for these excursions with a guidebook by my morning cup of coffee. From my own travelling experience I know how difficult it can be to find that perfect restaurant or to buy tickets beforehand to an exhibition or to find that perfect gift to bring back home to your family. Being a local, I already know these restaurants, cafés, museums and shops - and I will be more than happy to share my knowledge with you.
You often hear the sentence "Parisians are so rude. " which I believe is a well popularized urban myth. Visitors often do not understand the importance of the local etiquette, which requires greeting of total strangers; bus drivers, waiters, shop assistants etc. A simple "Bonjour" at the cash register can change your day. A smile goes a long way in Paris.
Stephen Clarke, a British author, who lives in Paris once said, "The real Paris, the one you won't read about in guidebooks, is an adventure all on its own. It comes from wandering the streets, eating in little-known cafés, observing the locals and looking through windows and doors (in the most conspicuous manner possible). " That 'wandering in the streets'- experience can be difficult to achieve without a local, friendly guide. I will take you to those cafés through a maze of old streets, showing you the gorgeous beauty of Paris without maps crowding your pockets or handbags.
Paris is a city where history does come alive. Every street corner has its particular stories and by telling these stories and ancient gossips, I will make your visit become a memorable experience.
A true Parisian day would include a visit to a museum, lunch in a beautiful restaurant or bistro and wandering the streets… perhaps even some shopping in a small boutique away from the tourist crowds.
Everybody is unique with different likes and tastes; luckily Paris offers a wide variety of activities. I will help you plan your day according to your preferences and interests - it will be your unique day in Paris. A small group gives me this chance to help you discover your personal Paris.
Paris is also a very child-friendly city with many playgrounds and offers many opportunities to discover culture at very early age. If you are travelling with a family, I will include activities that will be exciting for your children as well as offering you the chance to see and enjoy Paris. A small museum with a garden is the perfect place to begin the lifelong appreciation of art.
I would love, that when leaving Paris, you'll love the city and appreciate its wonders as much as I do.
I hope to see you soon in Paris!
