3 days Cultural Tour in Svaneti, Georgia

day 1. drive from Tbilis to Mestia. Lunch at 14:00. Mestia is the center of Svaneti District. There are under 35 towers of IX-XII centuries. accommodation in Guest house. excursion im Mestia (oldest Tower and typical Svanetian house - XI c. , Svanetian Ethnographic Museum.
Day 2. drive be 4WD car to Village USHGULI (IX - XII centuries. towers) and Village KALA. 2 hour trip in Ushguli, 1:30 h. trip in village Kala to XI century. church of St. KVIRIKE. in Kvirike Church are the frescoes of XIII - XV centuries. coming back to Mestia. Dinar with Traditional Svanetian cuisine and Georgian wine.
Day 3. 3 hours trip to the canyon MESTIACHALA and visit a place where river is starting from under Glacier. coming back to Mestia and drive to village Latali. lunch. visit the ethnographic house and see some traditional handiwork of Svanetian people. drive to Tbilisi. |
