You'll definitely enjoy this tour. You will see the ancient Russian town famous for its marvelous churches, monasteries, ancient Russian fortresses and breathtaking views.
Pskov is situated in northwestern Russia(300 km. from St. Petersburg) and has internal borders with the Novgorod, Leningrad, Tver and Smolensk Regions as well as external borders with Belarus, Estonia and Latvia. Founded in the 10th century, this is a city rich in history. During the Middle Ages, Pskov was a main stronghold on Russia's northwestern frontier, a capital of a wealthy principality, and one of the largest cities in Europe.
This town is popular with Russian tourists. They come here to pray and to feel the spirit of Russia. |

I'll meet you at your door. I'll drive you to Pskov. It will take approximately 6 hours. In Pskov we'll check in at the hotel or in the wooden cottage on the lake's bank. (Its your choice). Then we'll start our sightseeing tour. We'll visit the Pskov's Kremlin and Historical and Fine Arts Museum. Then we can go straight to the hotel or do the things you wish like walking or driving round the town, or shopping and ets. ( As for meals it's not a problem. There's a wide range of cafees and restaurants offering dishes of national and internaItional cuisine).
On the second day I suggest visiting Mirozhsky monastery ( 12th century in the UNESCO list) famous for its frescos.
Then we'll go to Izborsk to see an ancient Russian fortress and drink the springs' water. The scenery there is breathtaking.
The last site we'll visit is Pechorsky monastery (30 km. from Pskov). It's a monastery containing very beautiful churches surrounded by ancient wall.
Depart to St. Petersburg. We'll be in St. Petersburg at about 11 p. m. |
