Corregidor the tadpole shaped island at the mouth of Manila Bay, is the site of the historic final stand by the American and Filipino forces against the marauding Japanese Imperial Army during 1942 and also where the same Japanese forces withstood an amazing Allied invasion in 1945. Considered a sacred memorial by both sides, here is where you can find the American Pacific war memorial and the Japanese memorial for peace. Ruins of early 20th century American buildings and vintage WWI and WWII gun emplacements dot the landscape; enjoy a great audio visual presentation about the war inside the historic Malinta Tunnel. Enjoy a great meal before wrapping up the tour, ride a fast craft from Manila's busy downtown and take a look at Manila Bay up close with the mountains of Bataan looming in the background.
