47.000Km2 of extension .Is consider the 4º biggest desert of this holy planet.
On its northern part there still more than inhabited 10.000km2.
While walking this dry area of China we can find plenty of lakes (more than 1 hundred) of extraordinary beauty .Most of them of salty waters , 12 of them fresh drinking water where the abundance of life is quite impressive.
Everyone in this area heard about a mysterious lake古冬京-固日班吉仁of extraordinary beauty that is difficult to trace its exact location. On the sixties Chinese geologist they fly over this area in order to locate this mysterious lake and once they saw it they left some locators to be able to trace this place by earth. Once they arrived to these machines they could never find anything.
The local people smile and suggest that this lake is a gate, for a valley of immortality...of course not for everyone to find. |

4 Days Program:
In total we are going to walk down 120 km of desert. In this way we walk the world's highest dune of 530 m (1600m over the sea level) , we will see 4 lakes ,and walk areas that nobody ever lived except a this tiny Buddhist Tibetan temple …we will visit a couple of local houses talk with them for a little while.
Day 1 flight from Beijing to Lanzhou. Car to Jinchang.
Day 2 Desert 45Km
Day 3 Arrive to Tao's house, rest...and ride camels to Hutuge jilin, Bilutu ,Shenchuan and the Badanjilin Monastery ,the Nuo re tu lake..

we joined in on a trip she had arranged on the Great Wall. She knows how to get to the wild, unrestored parts that even the locals seldom see. Our trip that time included a night stay in a bed and breakfast type place where we experienced the real thing to the fullest living with the local people for a fraction of the cost of what other places would charge. Cleanliness and safety were always ensured wherever she took us.

Heidi’s specialty is finding great spots to hike and enjoy nature in the Beijing area, especially on unrestored portions of the Great Wall connecting undeveloped, “tourist-free” wilderness, farmland and villages. Heidi’s level of communication in English is basic. However, this does not pose a problem for the adventurous sort of person that enjoys her tours.
