We start the tour in Langa, the oldest township in Cape Town. We visit a cultural centre, I make use of a local guide who lives in the township and who can explain the ins and outs of township life from how to buy beer in a shebeen (informal bar) to how to behave around a sangoma (traditional doctor). We walk the streets, talk to the locals, visit some houses and you will experience the disparity that exists in the community. I true eye opening experience! |
