A visit to Cape Point is compulsory if your stay in Cape Town is anything longer than one day. We drive down the eastern side of the peninsula along the False Bay Coast via Muizenberg, Fish Hoek and Simon's Town to Cape Point, the southern tip of the peninsula. On the return we drive the western side along the Atlantic coastline past Scarborough, Misty Cliffs and Kommetjie, scenic Chapman's Peak Drive, through Hout Bay and then follow the Atlantic seaboard past Llandudno, the Twelve Apostles, through Camps Bay, Clifton Beach, Bantry Bay, Sea Point and Green Point. Watch a colony of African Penguins at Boulders Beach, drive through the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, climb up (or for the not so energetic, use the funicular ride) to the lighthouse at Cape Point, watch the seals at Hout Bay. In Simon's Town we stop at the statue of Just Nuisance, a Great Dane that received the rank of Able Seaman in the Royal Navy and was buried with full military honours! |

| After heavy storms Chapman's Peak Drive might be closed due to rock falls. We will then have to make use of Ou Kaapse Weg which is beautiful in its own right, but not quite as scenic as Chapman's Peak. |
