To take in some of the city's magnitude, take a spiritual tour to Coptic, Jewish and Islamic Cairo. Coptic Cairo is the city's Christian centre which houses some of the most important churches and synagogues ever built in Egypt.
The Church of Abu Sirga witnessed the arrival of the Holy Family in Egypt. Walk around the very places where Jesus used to live. The feeling is awesome!
Don't miss the impressive Hanging Church built on the remains of a Roman fortress. Visit the famous Synagogue of Ben Ezra with its exquisite woodwork.
Proceed to the Citadel of Saladin and see the Alabaster Mosque, the most attractive mosque in Old Cairo. Visit the Sultan Hassan Mosque, the most impressive mosque built in Egypt in medieval times.
Head for the Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, Egypt's largest tourist market and see its colourful shops. |
