For most, the highlight is a motor boat ride to the romantic Temple of Philae , dedicated to the Gods Isis and Osiris. A beautiful temple in a spectacular setting on the waters of Lake Nasser.
This sightseeing tour of Aswan will start with a visit to the high dam which was built in 1960 by president Nasser and opened by president Sadat.
The high dam itself is considered to be a very strategic site for Egypt because it protects from the floods and also gives the Egyptians much electricity.
In front of the dam there is artificial huge lake called Nasser, created by the construction of the dam. This lake provides Egypt with fish.
After the high dam, we will drive to temple of Philae which is located on the island of Agilka. On the island of Agilka there is a complex of temples, the biggest of which is the Isis temple.
The goddess Isis is a universal goddess who was worshiped mainly in Egypt and spread out to Rome and Greece. It was like a miracle that UNESCO, with the help of 40 countries, dismantled this temple and transported it piece by piece from the island of Philea, which is now under the water, to a new island called Agilka,
We end our day at the Obelisk.
