The Sahara desert in Egypt has witnessed one of the most important and famous battles in World War 2, namely Alamein. This battle marked a turning-point in the second world war and the world history as well. If it was not for this battle, the Allied Forces would not have won the war.
Now the town of Alamein houses an interesting museum that shows everything about the battle : the soldiers and officers clothes, bombs, tanks, weapons, reviews of the battle, charts, maps, photos of the battle as well as medals of all sides. Above all the town is home to the cemetries of the Commonwealth, the German and Italian Forces.
