Foreign tourists sometimes describe Xochimilco as "such-a-milk-cow". Not with this tour! Your guide scrubs the surface and takes you deep into a traditional market, with surprising food and traditional healing herbs, shows the best of colonial architecture and one of the best Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo collections.
As top of the bill, we take a "trajinera" along the 180km of canals and fields that are the remains of hundreds of years of dredging mud onto floating carpets of branches. One of the most intriguing destinations is the Island of the Dolls, a rarely visited showcase of folk "art" and popular superstition. You have to see it to believe it. Instead, we can also visit a farmers cooperative that help to protect this unique heritage site while providing healthy food to local citizens.
This tour offers a unique experience, full of surprises and interesting anecdotes. But it's also a day of relaxing quality time. |

7:00 Visit of a traditional pulquería where you can taste pulque, the aphrodisiac Aztec "drink of the gods" from the fermented maguey cactus juice: a time machine that takes you back at least a century.

On request, a visit to Coyoacán can be included in the program, shortening the market and canals visit. |
