My name is Debbie and I am a professional Blue Badge Tourist Guide for the Southern Tourist Board. My interests include history (in particular Mediaeval) and amateur dramatics. Apart from some years living in Asia, I have lived in the Windsor area all of my adult life. I specialize in tours of Windsor (town and castle), Eton, Henley-On-Thames and Marlow-On-Thames. I am also a steward in St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, with specialist knowledge of that unique building.
The Royal Borough of Windsor is a fabulous area teeming with history and places of interest. Windsor Castle is a favourite home of HM The Queen and this being her Diamond Jubilee year, there will be lots of celebrations and exhibitions taking place. 2012 is also our Olympic year and close to Windsor is Eton Dorney Lake where the rowing and canoeing events will be taking place. It is going to be a very busy year here in the Royal Borough.
I can provide walking tours that are light-hearted as well as informative. Apart from the history, I can tell you tales of the people that lived in the towns as well as events both historical and ghostly. This is also the year to find out more about our Queen - what she does and where she goes and why she is so important to us all.
I am available most days for half day walking tours (up to 4 hours) and full days (up to 9 hours) and also coach tours of the region.

Credentials: I am educated up to degree level. I also have my Blue Badge qualification plus accreditation for Windsor Castle and the 2012 Olympic Games.
I have full insurance cover from the Guild of Tourist Guides and I am also a full member of the Institute of Tourist Guides.
I am also the co-author of a book on the history of Windsor and I have been seen on TV worldwide (the Discovery Channel) and on an ITV programme about Windsor Castle. |
