This tour will take you through the fascinating story of how Whistler grew from a small summer resort in the 1930's to the largest ski resort in North America and the most recent host of the Olympic Games in 2010. Telling you the stories of the various characters that have made Whistler what it is today, from the dreamers and squatters of the early 1900's to the entrepreneurs of today. My family have been intimately involved in the resorts development and I can share a truly unique experience that few people have had the chance to enjoy. We will take a gentle walk throughout the village, starting at the new Olympic Celebration Plaza, we will explore the and point out the unique aspects of the village design, galleries and great dining spots will be pointed out, not to mention the great shops and sales that might be on during your visit! The tour will take approximately 1. 5 hours and will finish with a mini tour of the Whistler Museum. |

| We will meet at the Olympic Rings at the Whistler Olympic Celebration Plaza and start our tour from there, we will wind our way throughout the Village and as we do so we will be storytelling the history of the resort. We will be able to point out important local landmarks, including art galleries and specialty shops that are located in Whistler Village. In addition, notable restaurants will be pointed out for those that are staying overnight. If the group would like to go up the mountains, either summer or winter tickets can be arranged for the Peak to Peak, truly the experience of a lifetime. The tour will remain flexible to the needs of the group and if you require customization or a particular theme of interest we can arrange that for you. |
