Palermo Private Shore Excursions |

Sicily is the stuff of legends: at one time Europe's grandest city, Palermo is linked to the great histories of Norman Kingdoms and the Middle East. Unlike the more touristy Italian cities of Florence or Rome, many of Palermo's most stunning treasures are the hidden ones - discover them with a private Palermo tour! A knowledgeable local guide will help you explore the city's ancient palaces, castles and churches, with their unique architectural fusion of Byzantine, Arab, Norman, Renaissance and baroque styles.
In the south, Agrigento is home to Sicily's most awe-inspiring attraction: the UNESCO World Heritage Valley of the Temples. Loaded with history, beauty and archaeological significance, these ancient temples deserve more than a superficial visit.
Don't forget the charming city of Trapani with its many buildings designed in the Baroque style.
Take a private shore excursion tour in western Sicily and see the best parts of this exciting, eclectic region! |

| Tour Guide Legal Requirements |
If the nature of the tour is that the guide is 'interpreting the cultural and natural heritage of an area', Italy requires the guide have a guiding license. A person giving tours such as the 'best nightlife spots', 'shopping and fashion tour' or 'restaurant tour' for example, does not require a license. This definition follows the European standard for tour guiding (CEN).
To become a Licensed Tourist Guide, candidates must pass an examination given by the local public tourist authorities to assess and test their knowledge of the area in terms of its history and geography, its art and architecture, its museums and art galleries, churches, its environs and cultural features. As part of the requirements, candidates must also prove their knowledge of each foreign language they applied for with oral and written tests. report error
