Welcome to Montevideo, the most European cosmopolitan city of South America.
The founding process started in 1724. On our 6 hour Tour we will see the historic Spanish Colonial sites, as the 1805 year old Cathedral and Town Hall, the pedestrian Sarandí Street which was the main street in 1880.
The Independence Square, the Salvo Palace, "art deco style". Solis theater, and Citadel Gate. We will walk 18 de Julio, our most important Avenue.
At Pocitos where I live, we will see the impressive Pittamiglio Castle, and beautiful views of the beach and river.
We will stroll along a former State Prision that was remodeled to be Shopping , and its stories, filled with diverse culture, exotic food street fairs , and majestic 1930's Pocitos Houses.
A personal architect view, we will visit all the places I have seen growing along my life.
The Naval Museum, to see the remains of the Graff Spee WWII
sunk near our coast.
Our itinerary explores the best of Montevideo and its history.

Bus or taxi to Pocitos District.
Pocitos Neighborhood
We will walk along Pocitos Beach:
Rambla Promenade Landmarks : Churchill Statue, Naval Museum,
Fish Market, Montevideo Yacht Club, the Pittamiglio Castle.
Montevideo World Trade Center Gomensoro Square, El Mastil Building.
We see some typical Pocitos 1930's Houses(by italian constructors Bello & Rebotatti)
Villa Biarritz Park .
Punta Carretas Church
Golf Club and Lighthouse
Return to Port |

We end at the Mercado del Puerto, which is in front of the Port. Or if you wish, I may leave you at the port.
If you are staying at an hotel, I leave you there. |
