It is also sometimes called the Monastery of the Romans and is very probably the first monastery established in the Wadi AlNatrun.The second Monastery in Our Tour is Anba Bishoy Monastery.The most interesting building in this monastery is the tower, also The other churches really form more of a complex of chapels.Finally we will The Monastery of the Syrians which was thus established by those of the St. Bishoi monastery who were opposed to Julianist doctrines. | Morning we will pick up you from your Hotel and Travel by A/C Van or Bus to the Way of Alexandria " Wadi Al Natroun ".It will take about 2.30 hours .Our first Monastery will be The Monastery of al-Baramus (Deir al-Baramus, Monastery of the Romans).It is very possible that both existed concurrently at some point, with the former monastery known as Deir al-Baramus, and the current monastery known as the Monastery of the Virgin of Baramus, Hence, the history we have of the modern monastery certain encompasses that of both.After that we will move to Anba Bishoy Monastery. The most interesting building in the monastery is the tower ,traces of an oven, a mill for grains, a press for grapes, as well as an olive press and churches really form more of a complex of chapels, after lunch we will move to The Monastery of the Syrians There had actually been Syrian monks at Wadi al-Natrun since the end of the fourth century, living amongst the other monks.Then we will back to your Hotel . |
