This tour is showing you the highlights of the Vienna Woods. The wonderful green and hilly region around Vienna is a welcome hideaway for locals and visitors as well. It was the place where many writers and composers found inspiration. Enjoy a pittoresque scenery combined with the visit of Heiligenkreuz Abbey, one of the oldest and most traditional abbeys in Austria. Its monks became famous for the Gregorian Chorals they recorded very successfully. At Mayerling you will meet the place of the tragedic suicide of the Rudolph, successor to the Habsburg throne. Finally a city walk across Baden will get you an idea of the Austrian architecture at the 18th and 19th century. |
