Welcome to the glorious, incomparable city of Venice, Italy. With its grand marble palaces and churches seeming to float atop the city's many canals, and boasting the world's most artistic masterpieces per square mile, this city will amaze you.
Take a private Venice shore excursion and see the city's famous sights and utterly charming neighbourhoods with a friendly local guide.
Do as the locals do and take a Vaporetto (water-bus) along Venice's fabled Grand Canal. Make sure to go inside the Basilica di San Marco, one of the most spectacular houses of worship in the world. Spend an afternoon in the elegant Dorsudoro District, where you can gaze at the works of the Venetian Old Masters in the venerable Gallerie dell'Accademia.
Your guide is happy to tailor a private Venice shore excursion that suits your unique interests in this beautiful city. |

| Tour Guide Legal Requirements |
If the nature of the tour is that the guide is 'interpreting the cultural and natural heritage of an area', Italy requires the guide have a guiding license. A person giving tours such as the 'best nightlife spots', 'shopping and fashion tour' or 'restaurant tour' for example, does not require a license. This definition follows the European standard for tour guiding (CEN).
To become a Licensed Tourist Guide, candidates must pass an examination given by the local public tourist authorities to assess and test their knowledge of the area in terms of its history and geography, its art and architecture, its museums and art galleries, churches, its environs and cultural features. As part of the requirements, candidates must also prove their knowledge of each foreign language they applied for with oral and written tests. report error
