Starting at the LOVE statue at we'll begin with the 1876 Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts building (where I went to school), we will meander out the beautiful French-designed Parkway past great modern buildings, to the huge Cathedral, with a visit inside, past the beaux arts Free Library and the Franklin Institute science museum, the Academy of Natural Sciences, the new Barnes Collection museum (under construction), and the Rodin Museum, with the Thinker out front. All along the Parkway are sculptures old and new, lush plantings, and fountains. This tour will culminate at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, 3rd largest in America. You can run up the steps Rocky ran, and see his statue. If you wish I'll take you past the museum to the 19th C. Water Works on the banks of the Schuylkill River. |

|
End location: I suggest spending time in the Museum of Art. The collections are great and they have good restaurants. Taxis back to your hotel are readily available at the west entrance. If you like I can escort you to your hotel, Or perhaps you will go on my 3rd tour to Rittenhouse Square. |
