Portuguese sailors of the 15th century called Taiwan 'Ilha Formosa', a green and beautiful island. Now it's your turn to explore on an amazing Taiwan round the island excursion. From the regular 'must see' tourist spots to far and away rustic places, with a professional driver and van on your own itinerary
A typical 4 to 6 day tour (or more) takes you around the island in a few ways. Topography limits your route: from the West you can make a swing to the Southern tip at Kenting national park, or start off from the East coast. You will mostly travel along the coasts: see local culture on the Western plains and foothills. Nature, mountains, hotsprings and beaches on the high and rugged East coast
Only between Taroko gorge and Sun Moon lake can you cross the 3000 meter Central mountain range. Most travelers like to overnight at the Qingjing farm area at higher elevations

A typical 5 or 6 day tour by van with a driver will take you around the island in comfort and at your own pace. This is just one of the possible routes. You can also travel in the opposite direction.
Day 1: Taipei - Sun Moon Lake
Day 2: Sun Moon Lake - Tainan - Kaohsiung
Day 3: Kaohsiung - Taitung
Day 4: Taitung - Hualien
Day 5: Hualien - Taroko - Hualien - Taipei
Kaohsiung is served by regional flights, this allows trips to end or start there too. You may also use the High Speed Rail bullet train between Taipei and Kaohsiung to save you time and add to your experience of Taiwan.
Day 1: Taipei - Taroko - Qingjing farm
Day 2: Qingjing - Sun Moon Lake
Day 3: Sun Moon Lake - Tainan
Day 4: Tainan - Kaohsiung
