Although two days is not a long time, I do promise you'll definitely get the feeling of Romanovs' Tsars Family's everyday life, the understanding of what Saint-Petersburg - the most magical city in the World - is like. You will definitely get to know more about the art and history of Imperial Russia through visiting the Hermitage, St. Isaac Cathedral and many other museums and places of interest. You'll try local food and see how the life of locals in Northern Russia is.
Saint-Petersburg is also famous for the wonderful outskirts, which are not the mere suburbs but a chain of numerous Summer Palaces of the Romanov Family, full of charm and rich history. This will be also the point of our exploring tour.
Please note that the itinerary is just a suggestion. You can request changes and I will do my best to accommodate any special wishes.
Day 1: Meet at the reception of your hotel -Drive to the town of Pushkin where we'll visit Catherine Palace with its Famouse Amber Room. - Then ride to Peterhof, so-called "Fountain Capital", the Summer residence of Peter the Great. -Optional: -Upon return to the city we take a boat ride along the canals of Saint-Petersburg, visiting the most secret corners of an old city, and taking unique pictures of the city visible only from the water way. - See St. Petersburg's metro. - Visit of Russian Folk show or a theater at your request.
Day 2 - Visit of State Hermitage Museum, visit of the birthplace of the Northern Capital - the Peter and Paul's Fortress and the Cathedral, which is a burial place of Russian Royal family. - Optional: - Visit St. Issac's Cathedral, - Church on the Spilled Blood.
We will make stops and you will be able to take photos at the most picturesque places of the city.
Where and When:
Meet up location: I will meet you at the reception of your hotel, just give me the name and the name of the street.
End location: Normally at your hotel, but at your request we can end the tour in the downtown of the city in case you would like to visit restaurant or go to the theater.
Duration: 2 days
In case you choose options, your tour day might become longer, so you will pay extra fee for guide/car services.
Restrictions:
There might be some changes regarding rules and order of work for the tour guides in coming 2012. If there are, I would immediately place information here.
3000 roubles - from 3000 up to 5000 Roubles - This is for visiting museums and sights which are not listed in the "what is included"; food, drink, tickets for taking pictures/video inside the museums and use of bathrooms there, public transportation (in case you would like to).
What's Included:
My services as your guide/interpreter, vehicle/driver services, visa-free service. Entrance fees to Catherine's Palace (where the Amber Room is), Peterhof park, the State Hermitage Museum. I'll need to buy tickets in advance in order to avoid staying in lines.
What's Extra:
Any food, drink, extra museum entrances not listed in 'What's Included', tickets for the theater or a show; public transportation.
