| Tour Guide Legal Requirements |
A tour guide in St.Petersburg must be licensed to work in the museums. Each museum has a separate license. In Moscow the guides have to get accreditation from the Moscow Municipal authorities (including conducting tours in the museums). We are not sure about other Russian cities. A person giving tours such as the 'best nightlife spots', 'shopping and fashion tour' or 'restaurant tour' for example, does not require a license. report error

| Deboarding Requirements |
Cruise ship passengers can enter St. Petersburg provided they have the following documents:
1. Valid passport
2. Photocopy of the passport's main page
3. Travel ticket (we issue this and send it to you when you book your tour)
Passport control processes your documents and issues you a coupon (surrendered when you return to the ship).
Your guide will meet you outside passport control (holding a sign with your name on it).
SPECIAL NOTE:
Sometimes the cruise line gives mis-information about problems that can occur unless you book their shore excursions. These are just tactics to force you to take their tours.
Once you are in St. Petersburg, you are under the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation. The cruise ship cannot hold you on the ship while other passengers disembark.
