This is a sight-seeing tour that tells the history of St. Petersburg, the Russian Imperial Family and famous citizens through the perspective of the beautiful old Russian Orthodox Churches - Peter & Paul Cathedral, The Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood and St. Isaac Cathedral. We will also get on the territory of the oldest monastery in the city - Alexandra Nevsky Lavra, where a lot of famous Russians are buried, such as Peter Tchaikovsky and Fedor Dostoevsky.
We meet at the lobby of your hotel (I will have a card with your name on it) and then start the tour. During "The Beautiful Domes" tour we will see 3 churches in the city center, built in different centuries:
1) Peter & Paul Cathedral on the territory of Peter & Paul Fortress, where Russian Emperors - Romanovs are buried.
2) St. Isaac Cathedral - the fourth largest Cathedral in the world.
3) The Church of Our Savior on Spilled Blood, built on the site where Russian Emperor Alexander II was killed by a terrorist in 1881.
4) We will also visit the Necropolis of Artists on the territory of the oldest monastery in St. Petersburg - Alexandra Nevsky Lavra, where many famous Russians are buried.
Along the way, we will see Nevsky prospect, the Spit of Vasilievsky Island, Winter Palace and other famous sites in St. Petersburg.
Where and When:
Meet up location: We will meet at the reception of your hotel, I will have a card with your name on it.
End location: We will bring you back to the hotel or any place in the city centre you please.
Handicap Friendly: Yes. St. Isaac cathedral is inaccessible for people using wheelchairs. Anyway, I need to know in advance, if there are any mobility issues in our groups to make the tour comfortable for everybody.
Kid Friendly: Yes. I need to know in advance if you kid needs a special safety chair (which is a law in Russia for children under 12).
