Only available during September and October. Spend a morning or afternoon witnessing the largest species of Salmon, the Chinook, as they struggle heroically at the majestic Stamp Falls, near Port Alberni. Starting from your accommodations you will be entertained by stories about salmon, salmon fishing and first nations culture around salmon as we travel in a 10-passenger van to the falls. Another stop is a 20-minute hike into a grove of huge old trees that rival Cathedral Grove in their magnificence - and they are right beside the wild Stamp River, one of the most important salmon rivers on Vancouver Island.

  Itinerary:
Tours will start at either 8:30AM sharp or 1:00PM.
After intial greetings and introductions we will climb in the van and drive to the trail head of the Angler's Trail where we will spend 20 minutes hiking in to see the huge Douglas Fir groves along the Stamp River. The drive is 25 minutes. After spending time in the presence of these giants we will reluctantly retrace our steps and go for what you came to see, the schools of migrating salmon at the Falls. There will be plenty of time to look around, ask questions and marvel at the dedicated drive of these fish to return to their spawning grounds. All the while I will tell stories and explain what you are looking at.

End location: I will drop you at the same location that I picked you up at.
