A wonderful outing to the cool, fresh mountaintops of Southern Utah. This tour includes a mining ghost town, red sandstone formations, alpine meadows with Quaker trees, breakaway eroded sandstone cliffs with views towards Zion Canyon, lava flows, a beautiful lake, a hidden waterfall, and a seldom visited corner of Zion National Park that glows with the setting sun.
Note: Cedar Mountain is sometimes inaccessible after winter snow storms. |

You should have lunch before the tour begins and bring some money (perhaps $12-16) for dinner. Even in the summer, bring a sweater or jacket for the 9,000-foot elevations, and be prepared for possible rainstorms. Lighter clothing will be needed in the desert climes. Comfortable walking shoes, sun glasses, sun block, a camera, binoculars, and an umbrella may all prove useful. $15 per half-hour for additional time requested by the tour participants.
It is possible to extend this tour over multiple days to other regional destinations, such as Bryce Canyon or Zion National Park or the Grand Canyon. To arrange such a customized tour, please communicate with me via the Tours by Locals message center. |
