Located at 835 meters (aprox. 2,800 feet) above sea level the city for many years was used as summer residence by the Portuguese Royal family. The visit takes place in some of the buildings constructed by the family like the Imperial museum. Nowadays Downtown Petropolis is part of the National Architect Patrimony. |

It's a very nice area on the mountains of Rio state. You can easily spend 8 hours on this visit taking your time to enjoy it as the city deserves it. |
