A guiding license is required by Law No. 8623/93 of January 28, 1993. The law asserts that the professional must be properly registered at the Brazilian Institute of Tourism. The guide must present the certificate of completion in an institution administered by the Ministry of Education (MEC) and by Embratur. report error

| Deboarding Requirements |
| Visitors from some countries will require a visa which is usually processed within two working days by applying to the nearest Brazilian Embassy or Consulate. Requirements for a tourist visa include a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival, one passport size photograph and a round trip ticket. Most cruise lines can advise on visa requirements for tourists. |
