About an hour from OR Tambo International Airport is the Rhino and Lion Park. Have a glimpse of the rich wildlife and scenery this country has to offer you by taking a short safari instead of sitting in the aiport lounge.
I give a background history of Johannesburg as we drive there, with plenty to see along the way. We drive through the park, enjoying the grassland scenery and the herds of grazing animals. Rhino and buffalo, two of the Big 5, are present among many other antelope.
The lion, another of the Big 5, are in their own enclosures, which are also drive through, as are the cheetah and wild dogs, both highly endangered species.
The visitor centre, which we walk through, offers a multitude of animals, both African and exotic, as well as some of the large birds such as cranes and marabou stork found here.
The hippo pools are worth visiting for a glimpse of these large herbivores, as well as the Ground Hornbill, also an endangered species. |

I meet you at O R Tambo airport arrivals hall, or your accommodation, and we travel directly to the park.
The time spent in the park will vary depending on your available time. The longer the layover, the more time we can spend. If you have the time, we can visit the Wonder Cave - you do need to be quite fit for this.
From the park, we go directly back to the airport, and you are dropped off at the departures hall, or at your accommodation.
PLEASE ENQUIRE: THIS TOUR CAN BE EXTENDED TO INCLUDE PART OF THE CRADLE OF HUMANKIND SUCH AS STERKFONTEIN CAVES IF YOU HAVE THE TIME.
This can be varied depending on your flights. If you are arriving on an international flight at O R Tambo and departing on a local flight from Lanseria, the drop-off can be made at Lanseria. This will also work with a Lanseria pickup and O R Tambo drop-off. |

Please ensure that you have this number of FREE hours - if your flight arrives at 07h30, we will not be able to leave much before 08h30, and if your flight leaves at 16h30, you need to be there between 14h30 and 15h00, leaving 6 hours between 08h30 and 14h30. This is ideal. A bit shorter and a bit longer can be accommodated.
The gates open at 08h00, and close at 17h00. This means that the latest tour to the park must leave the airport by 12h00, or there will not be sufficient time. |

| 500 South African Rand - This will depend entirely on you, and whether you want to do the Cub Touch or purchase any curios. |

Any purchases of a personal nature such as curios. If you would like to go into the touch pens with the lion cubs etc, that will be extra and to your account. The cost is R30.00pp, and R110.00pp with photos that they take. All other activities are included.
The purchase of any additional food or drink would be extra. |
