Tour of Raleigh, North Carolina

This half-day tour lets you experience our Southern culture close up, and will take you to see museums, the state capital, historic homes, our incomparable farmers market, landmarks and other prominent destinations around Raleigh, one of the fifty largest U. S. cities, and which can boast about one of the most extensive greenway systems in the country. See and experience the local history through architecture and monuments, rooted in the Revolutionary War era, the Civil War and into the present. If you are looking for a relaxed, fun and intellectually stimulating experience in a unique, diverse and green American city, I designed this tour in order to provide travelers with a personal view of Raleigh, and is easily tailored to select individual preferences of what to see and do.

Meet at 9:00 a. m. or a time most convenient for you, at designated hotel, or the North Carolina State History Museum in the center of the historic district. After a brief introduction to Raleigh through museum exhibits, walk to the historic State Capital, legislature, Museum of Science, and other major landmarks. After a brief rest stop, drive to see additional architectural sites, old homes, parks and the famous Oakwood Cemetery. The tour will continue to the tremendously popular and attractive North Carolina State Farmers Market, and return through the grounds of the impressive and recently completed Centennial Campus of North Carolina State University, before returning to the hotel designated.
